The Back Rub Hub was founded by Ryan Petersen and George
Strompolos, two massage enthusiasts in San Francisco, California.
As a firm we are committed to bringing the highest quality

Ryan likes to say his life changed forever the day his mom
brought home a shiatsu massage chair from Sharper Image. Toward
the end of a long day's work his mind would often wander to
that chair. As soon as he got home he would head straight
for the recliner to melt away the day's tensions.
After this (brief) stint living with his parents, Ryan decided
he just had to have a shiatsu massage chair for his own house.
However, when he saw the price tag on a Sharper Image massage
chair he just couldn't justify it. Nobody should have to pay
such a ridiculous sum of money for a massage chair!
So he contacted his old pal George and suggested the idea of developing
a competing business to offer high quality massage chairs
at reasonable prices. Over the next few months the two began
developing relationships with dozens of producers in East
Asia, paying visits to factories, testing chairs and evaluating
the quality of management at each.
The hard work eventually paid off as they identified a company
that was already producing some of the highest quality chairs
on the market at a price most American households could afford.
